Need a Bargain? Look to Online Auctions!

In 24 days I am walking in the Breast Cancer 3-Day, an event to raise money for breast cancer research during which I will be required to walk a total of 60 miles over the course of a three day weekend.

Because I have problem feet I bit the bullet and went to a specialty store for shoes that will not make me want to rip my legs off after walking the first ten miles.

I don’t regret the purchase at all, but the $125 price tag was way too steep for me to consider the two pair that most experienced 3-Day walkers suggest to have on-hand.  With time running short I wanted to make certain that I could find an acceptable second pair of shoes in time to break them in before the walk so I looked to the Internet for my salvation.

I found that salvation on Ebay when the exact brand, size and style of the shoe I purchased at the local store for $125 was on auction.  I placed a maximum bid and went on about my business only to learn the next day that I managed to score a brand new pair of the identical shoes for $49.99 with shipping.

There are those who may downplay this particular suggestion because I was buying a name brand item when I should have gone for a lesser known (and lower priced) item.  To those people I say walk 60 miles in my shoes and then we’ll talk.

I agree Michael I also walk alot and nothing ruins your day faster than sore and aching feet. You need good shoes or sneakers. It was worth the money. I also go straight for the clearance racks at Marshalls. tJ Maxx …etc I like their sneaks and I get them cheap……enough said.
