One sure way to save a lot of money without sacrificing your desire for fun and entertainment is to start a movie night tradition with family and friends. Movie night is a great way to spend quality time with those you care about without spending much money and thanks to companies like Redbox and Blockbuster Express there are ways to make your movie night as frugal as possible!
All you need to do is pop lots of popcorn, (be sure to give everyone their own bowl!) and pop in a great movie. Don’t want to spend a fortune on DVDs that you’ll only watch once? Not to worry! check out these great companies that now offer DVD rentals for peanuts:
Redbox: You have probably seen this self-service kiosks at major retailers all over the country, including many Walmart locations. Sign up for email notifications on the site and you’ll get a free rental code (all you need is a credit card). You can also sign up for free Redbox rental codes to be sent to your cell phone via text message.
Blockbuster Express: The latest incarnation of the Blockbuster Video company, Blockbuster Express now offers DVD rentals for $1 per night with no membership required. In my area (Atlanta), they are currently only located in Publix Supermarkets but if you have one nearby and want to give them a try, here’s a free Blockbuster Express rental code for you: GT9SA (expires 02/28/2010)
