I used to be irritated by the places around town that actually charged for wifi service, especially when the majority of places offer it for free. Now you can enjoy free wireless Internet service at McDonald’s restaurants anywhere in the country.
Free WiFi while you’re having a quick lunch sounds like a good deal to me. The only thing better would be to find a wireless hotspot somewhere that you could eat the lunch you brought from home. Of course many public libraries across the country also offer free wireless Internet as well.

I actually tried this about a week ago. I found myself in rural North Carolina in need of some WiFi to send in a software registration on my laptop. I had heard that Mickey D’s had free wifi so I found one…
They charged me $2.95 for a 2 hour session… OF course this might be the exception to the rule because I was in the boonies, but then again…
Thanks for the tip though!
It isn’t the exception, though the new free wifi feature didn’t begin until January 15th, so if it was before then I’m not surprised they made you pay for it.
