I am much the same way. I found items like turkey bacon were available in larger quantities and were cheaper at Costco while other items were just larger.

Agreed whole-heartedly. I love Costco - but I hardly do *all* of my shopping there, and I'm always mystified by people that say they do. Sure, some of the items there are dead on cheap (my regular purchases include cat food, cat litter, butter, water, vanilla, Healthy Choice fudge bars, bagged frozen fruit), but I usually can do better at the grocery store with coupons. Cost per unit is such a better way to go.
